1.      Introduction

              This method statement specifies the sequence and methodology to be followed for plastering of Surfaces of brick walls, concrete columns and concrete walls.

4.      Method of plastering
    1. Wall surface shall be properly cleaned before applying plaster.
    2. All the projections more than 5mm from the general face of the wall shall be removed to get a uniform surface and to reduce the amount of plaster.
    3. To get good key of the plaster with wall surface, the mortar joints in the brick masonry shall be raked out to a depth of 13 to 20 mm
    4. The joints and the surfaces shall be cleaned with hard wire brush to remove loose mortar and dust.
    5. Level pegs on walls shall be fixed with reference to the off lines to brick walls set out in   floors. (Using center plumb bob and nylon thread).
    6. All the brick walls shall be watered before pasting mortar on walls.
    7. For maintaining uniform thickness of plaster, screeds shall be formed on the wall surface by fixing dots.
    8. All the embedded service lines and provisions (Conduits, Boxes and etc. xc) shall be completed on brick walls and check with the MEP drawings.
    9. Apply the plaster to required thickness as specified in drawings
    10. External Plaster shall be 15mm thick to wall in cement and sand 1:3 with adding approved adhesive finished semi rough with wooden float.
    11. Internal Plaster Shall be 15mm thick to wall in cement and sand 1:4 with adding approved adhesive finished semi rough with wooden float






5.      Curing
Curing shall be carried out 24 hours after applying the cement plaster.

6.     Inspection for Construction

All kinds of inspection for construction shall be carried out by the site Engineers along with Engineers representative and QA/ QC Engineer of SANKEN as per the standards and specifications.

However, prior information shall be given to Consultant representative at site to proceed necessary checking’s periodically & make final comments.

Inspection shall be carried out while progressing of the work & approval shall be granted without affecting to the progress of the work.
